In the field of accounting, the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) exam is a comprehensive exam that encompasses a great amount of material related to accounting. If you pass this exam, you become a certified public accountant and can now work for the government in an accounting position. In addition, this certificate gives accountants a certified set of skills that are useful to many companies. The exam consists of four parts which are financial accounting and reporting, audit and attestation, regulation, and business environment and concepts. Overall, the CPA exam is the most important title an accountant can achieve and gives the government or a company significant information about your knowledge of accounting concepts.
The CPA exam is an indicator of
great information of the skill level of accountants. In order to be eligible for the exam in the
state of Michigan, you must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting with certain
concentrations. Also, you can be
eligible for the CPA exam in the state of Michigan if you have a bachelor’s
degree and master’s degree in accounting.
In addition, the rigor of eligibility for the CPA exam reflects on the
exam itself. Overall, the CPA exam has
very selective eligibility and gives accountants a certification that is like
no other.
The exam consists of four different
aspects of accounting. Each one of these
parts takes around 4 hours to complete and contains difficult case
studies. The first part of the exam is
financial accounting and reporting which covers many advanced concepts of
accounting. The second part of the exam
is audit and attestation, and it focuses on auditing or attestation,
certification. The third part is regulation
which consists of taxation, ethics, business law, and general business. The fourth part is business environment and
concepts, and it covers basic and advanced business concepts. Overall, the CPA exam is the most prestigious
certificate an accountant can have and will change many lives of accountants
forever.
