 The negative community thoughts of women having a lower zeal of working in the technology sector have profiled them as being only fit for society, and humanity works. The professional of science in the IT and medicine sectors mainly composed of the male gender. The male chauvinism in the society significantly contributes to the disparity of women taking science roles and duties. The different cultures, especially in the olden days, undermined the girl child education. Girl child education represented few concerns in the society, especially in the African context. The lagging of women behind started long time that affected the mindset of achievements in the world today. A country like in the US, you will find a large number of the university degrees attained by the women yet in the employment sector of the STEM a quarter of them are employed. A study conducted in the year 2009 indicated 57 percent of the university degrees are of the feminine gender while 43 percent for the male. Checking on total employment 48 percent women and 52 male. The situation worsens in the science profession where 24 percent are female and 76 percent men. The disparity in employment brings the issue of social attitudes in reinforcing the agenda of more women sensitization and encouragement programs of taking science subjects and job.

The creation of an image in the mind of a person affects how he/she grows up. The society thought of women not capable of handling math and science affects the morale of them taking the subjects. The stereotyping of women weak in the STEM education by the men discourages the females in taking science education thus becoming few in the science industry of employment. Emphasis should be inculcated in the society to have equal opportunities for the male and female gender in the education sector and professional areas.
